Little Boys

I am feeling overwhelmed with happiness right now. Lukey is sound asleep. Logan is making his presence known. The house is quiet. My living room is bursting at the seams with a parade of trucks, random balls, golf clubs, a monsterous dinosauer, and legos. Any other night I would spend a few minutes after LB fell asleep picking all the toys up. But tonight, I'm going to let them sit. Just a little reminder that a sweet, imaginative baby boy lives here :)

I cannot believe that in just a few short weeks I am going to have two boys. Two baby boys of my very own.
I'm not an expert, but I think I'm getting this whole boy thing down. Things I've learned so far...

Neo to Go is an amazing invention. (must of been a mother with a son who invented it)
Little boys get scrapes and bruises daily.
Although I catch some of them..it still amazes me how many I miss.
Wondering where they came from? Stop wondering.
It's a mystery that will never be solved.
Ya know, like how does a dryer eat a sock.
Don't stress about the battle wounds for professional pictures.
You'll look back in a couple years & go awwwww, I remember those days!

There is really no art to playing with trucks and cars.
Just make any sound that resembles a vehicle & it will do.
Teach him to use your back as a road. It's a nice little massage and play time all in one.

Let him be independent & let him wear what he wants to wear.
Boots & hats will always be necessaties.
If you have to go somewhere where a hat is not acceptable, hide it! It's the only way.

Don't be scared of his relationship with his Daddy. Your not going to lose him.
At the end of the day he is still going to want YOU.

They get into everrrrrything. If he isn't hurting himself...be quiet and let him be.
It will be funny whenever he finds out you caught him.

His shoes will never be clean.
Give up hope now.

Little boys growl. Just like a dinosauer.
Not because they are trying to be scary or mean.
They just do it because it's fun?

Every little boy needs a dog of the very own.

Somehow he will not only know what a gun is but also know what to do with it.
You will have a heart attack the first couple times.
Then you will relax & relize it's not the end of the world.
Soon he'll be able to turn anything into a gun with a little imagination.

You become an expert on building forts.
And playing with flashlights in the dark.

It's going to be a long road.
Raising two Roscow boys.
Trying to keep them fed, going to football games.
Letting them know whose boss when the pass up their 5' 2'' mom.
But there is no other other journey I'd rather take :)

Somethings I hope to teach my boys:

To respect EVERYONE.
To slow dance, the correct way.
To have manners. Opening doors, saying yes mam-no sir, taking their hats off at the dinner table.
To stay true to themselves.
To not be embarrassed to give their mama a hug in front of their friends.
To know little girl's hearts are very fragile and to not play games.

All in all, I just want them to be good people.
And of course, love their mama as much as they do now :)

This is probably the sweetest post ever!! So So So true!!!!!
I am so thankful god gave me my little boy frist! He is my dream come true!!

Funny about the gun, we were at the dinner table 2 nights ago and Landon walks up with a gun and says "Bang Bang" I looked at Dane and asked him if he taught him how to do that & he said NO! I have NO idea where they learn it from!!!!

LB you just keep getting cuter!! I just know your little brudder is going to be just as cute as you are!

Christine! Wyatt is older than Luke & you haven't had to use this yet?! I think I have a years supply lol.

Kim..WHERE do they get that from?? Luke even makes noises to cock it back. I used to get really worked up about it "Ahhh, I don't want him playing with guns..blah blah" But then I calmed down. Little boys have been playing cowboys & indians for decades. And just because you played with toy guns when you were little it isn't want makes you take part in a school shooting years down the road.

Sarah Thank You for making this Blog! I enjoy reading about your family and all your great tips about raising boys. I have to admit I was scared to have a boy, but after reading your blog today I feel a little more at ease.
