Day 1

You remember that post a couple weeks ago about buying the potty chair?? Well, I went to Target that same day & bought all the essentials for this whole potty training journey. This was the potty chair this morning...

Yup, still in the box. I do not like to admit my faults, but I am a HUUUUGE procrastinator. But honestly, this time for a good reason. Well, I think it's a good reason. I am freaking terrified!! I didn't know it all when Luke was born and I'm still learning new things everyday on this whole parenting gig but this is the one thing that I don't have the 'mommy confidence' to do. And I know it's going to be HARD HARD HARD work & frankly, I don't know if I have the 'will' to stick it out.

But then this morning when my baby big boy, oh so curiously pulled the box out for the 9038403 time I decided today was the day. Reality check! I am a MOM. Moms have to do things they don't want to sometimes. No matter how much stress, energy, sacrifices, time, effort, sleepless nights, etc it takes out of us. I'm not having the only kid entering jr. high still having accidents. I pulled the confidence outta my butt and told myself I AM GOING TO DO THIS!!!

 we have the supplies!!

and a VERY excited big boy!!

*Sorry no pictures of me putting the potty chair together, that would be rather boring*

Drum roll please.............

*Don't mind all the white space!
(it was my first time doing this sort of collage & I'm pretty sure I only got a C)
Well, he sure was interested in it! I truly believe he thought it was a new toy. He just wanted to play with the 'flusher'?? and the toilet paper. Mmmhmm... Mommy's Charmin Ultra Soft will no longer be at the hands of Luke. He knows what toilet paper is, however he does NOT understand how much that lovely plush tp is! My confidence was not going up by just having him play with potty until..........

That's my boy!!!!! He knew exactly what to do. NOTE: he did not 'tinkle' BUT he understands the concept! Doesn't quite like the little 'peepee gaurd', hopefully he'll get used to it. I'm not sure what is and what isn't comfortable for a BOY. He was to caaaute when he got up and flushed the 'imaginary waste'. Then....

He bacame more interested in the box.....
Notice the commercial, SO not planned.
However, I'm going to look into whatever this so called Potty Dance Day is??

Alright Lukey, the bathroom is all set up for you!!
Mommy is ready whenever you are :)
