We took our first step at House Hunting over the weekend. I have been searching online for months, but Travis thought it was absolutely absurd to start looking while our house is still on the market..I however, think differently. Planning ahead is a good thing! And look who won ;)After showing him this house on the website, he got really excited too && could not wait to see it. Well..well..well. The drive to the house was just beautiful. We pulled up & thought it was exactly want we wanted. The house itself was nice, pretty, big. However, there were a lot of things left "un-done". Like the front porch steps for instance?? After much discussion, we decided that this was not the house for us. Not only was it $12,000 over our budget, we would of had to take out at least $50,000 to finish the house. It was still a little upsetting. The house was what I was looking for & I don't mind "projects" but after the Realtor told us that the house was in Waterloo School District missing the Red Bud School District by a smidge & that even if we paid the out of district fee there still would be no bus service coming our way. This made me feel finalized about our decision.I feel like staying in district is limiting our options. Who knows? Maybe we should consider the option of Luke going somewhere else to school? We just kind of had our hearts set on him going to the same school that we both did. And neither one of us likes change. So now our new game plan is to look for actual land. Building seems like the best way for us. I just don't think we are going to be happy with buying a house. We need to build a home. We have another potential buyer coming to look at our house tomorrow night. Keeping our fingers crossed, but not looking forward to a move with no where to go lol.
